Yeah i think it's a needed card for white in limited as their current removal suit was kind of low, so this power card will be a solid first pick in most situations!
Anyway, this creature itself looks like it requires you to have a -cost Treefolk or Plant? Are you going to have a Treefolk version of Dryad Arbor in this set? That could be pretty nifty, actually.
I was thinking, how can i make Garruk's companion more intresting.

But the dryad arbour land could still have been done with RE-root 0
I'm thinking one Plant land and one Treefolk land.
Yeah my thought is actually to have a Dryad arbor land for that main reason!
Personally I think I preferred re-root before your last change. I'd rather see Re-root keyworded with a number rather than say "minus one" in the rules text, as on Soulshift. Kami of Empty Graves into Thief of Hope into Deathknell Kami into Bile Urchin was intuitive enough, and it did allow for variations like Forked-Branch Garami and Promised Kannushi.

Strong. Reminiscent of Whipcorder, but gets to attack as well. Fair but strong.
Rootwalla for rather than ? Sure.
Changed it to work better with Illuminate!
An Uncommon Artifact to take care of two mechanics in the set. A strong sideboard option against Re-root and Recover
Gave it First strike to seem more appealing!
