technically the step does exist but currently it isn't for combat damage which was what I was saying as you would now have the "when blocked" non combat damage step then 3 combat damage steps.
Eh, that step already exists: "When this is blocked, ~ deals 1 damage to..." exists on plenty of cards. Kinda long winded, and I do like the idea of templating it, though.
I made this a Kamigawa card mainly because the name was cooler(and shorter) than "Lightning Strike Swordsman". The Swift Strike mechanic is an idea I have toyed around with in the past but one that is likely not feasible as it makes combat way too complicated what with having 3 separate damage steps. I posted it because I didn't want to lose the idea.
Looks good to me. Reminiscent of Mirran Crusader, but able to grow under the right circumstances. By comparison with the Crusader actually I suppose this could perhaps be cheaper, scarily.

And the Laccolith Grunt mechanic has been nicknamed "firster strike" too.

This post will forever define my memory of Hero of Bladehold. The way that it's such a great explanation for her irritated expression...
Ha. Funny, Alex.
She used to ride around in lingerie?
Took inspiration from Hero of Bladehold for Sharonar as it seemed appropriate given her history (which I know you guys aren't privvy to).
Yeah, Mirran Crusader (along with a whole slew of other 2/2 creatures with WW in the cost) is really scary :)
cool I originally had it at

but second guessed myself and pushed it up to 3WW, more than happy to push it back

not 100% on this as yet.
