Shadow: This creature can only block or be blocked by other creatures with shadow. Used on 0 cards:

Everyone knows this mechanic, it originated in Tempest block and has shown up now and then.

Hexproof: It cannot be the target of opponents spells and abilities. Used on 0 cards:

Changed from my name - Veil - to now official name - Hexproof

Illuminate: turn the top card of your library face up. Used on 0 cards:

Some spells will have a variable effect based on the illuminated card's CMC. In these cases the variable is X+Y (Y usually being 1) so that, even if a land or {0} cost card is illuminated, the spell will still generate an effect.

Scry: Look at the top PARAM1 cards of your library then put any number of them on the bottom of your library and the rest on top of your library in any order. Used on 1 cards: Scrying Ritual
Bloodthirst: If an opponent was dealt damage this turn, this creature enters the battlefield with PARAM1 +1/+1 counters on it Used on 1 cards: Bloodthirster
Shrivel: Damage is dealt to this in the form of -1/-1 counters Used on 0 cards:
Spellweave: As you cast an Instant or Sorcery, you may reveal this card from your hand and pay its spellweave cost. If you do, add this card's effects to that spell. Used on 0 cards:

Splice onto Arcane reworked to not be so parasitic.

Morph: You may cast this face down as a 2/2 creature for {3}. Turn it face up any time for its morph cost. Used on 0 cards:
Rage: Whenever this creature attacks it gets +PARAM1/-1 until end of turn. Used on 0 cards:

My rage mechanic which doesn't destroy the creature but makes it less likely to survive combat.

Resilient: If a source would deal combat damage to this, prevent PARAM1 of that damage Used on 0 cards:
Spellmorph: You may play this card facedown as a 2/2 colourless creature for {3}. Turn it faceup at any time that you could legally cast it by paying its Spellmorph cost, then cast the spell. This then goes to the graveyard. Used on 0 cards:

Morph for Instants and Sorceries.

Cycling: PARAM1, Discard this card: Draw a card Used on 1 cards: Cyclotron
Reclaim: if ~ is in your graveyard, you may Exile it to add PARAM1 to your mana pool. Used on 1 cards: Reclaimed Ruins
Outrage: Whenever this creature becomes blocked, it gets +PARAM1/+PARAM1 until end of turn for each creature blocking it. Used on 0 cards:

and this is my rework of Rampage. An interesting idea, the original rampage was hardly ever relevant as players would just avoid blocking in multiples. With this version it doesn't matter how may blockers there are.

Transfigure: PARAM1, Sacrifice this creature: Search your library for a creature card with the same converted mana cost as this creature and put that card onto the battlefield. Then shuffle your library. Transfigure only as a sorcery. Used on 1 cards: Goblin Changeling

As the only existing card with Transfigure is Black, I have decided that, given the colour pie, Red is the most sensible colour to bleed this into as a secondary. Red is impatient which fits this ability.

Transmute: PARAM1, discard this card: Search your library for a card with the same converted mana cost as this card, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library. Transmute only as a sorcery. Used on 2 cards: Transmutate, Transmutator

An existing ability, primarily Blue then Black.

Reclaim: if this is in your graveyard, you may Exile it to add PARAM1 to your mana pool Used on 1 cards: Reclamation Engine
Corpsecast: You may cast this spell from your Graveyard for its Corpsecast cost. If you do it is exiled when it enters the battlefield. Corpsecast only as a sorcery. Used on 1 cards: Skinshredder

Kinda like a blend of evoke and unearth, turning ETB effect creatures into one-shot spells.

_Warcraft_: As long as you control three or more attacking creatures Used on 0 cards:
Clockwork: ~ enters the battlefield with PARAM1 +1/+1 counters on it. Whenever ~ attacks or blocks, remove a +1/+1 counter at the end of combat. Used on 0 cards:
Wither: This deals damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters. Used on 0 cards:
Deflect: Whenever a creature would deal combat damage to this, prevent PARAM1 of that damage and this deals PARAM1 damage to that creature Used on 1 cards: Tortle Ironshell
Transfigure: Sacrifice a creature, then search your library for a creature card with the same converted mana cost as that creature and put that card onto the battlefield. Then shuffle your library. Transfigure only as a sorcery Used on 0 cards:
Evoke: You may cast this spell for its evoke cost. If you do, it's sacrificed when it enters the battlefield. Used on 0 cards:
Ninjutsu: PARAM1, Return an unblocked attacker you control to hand: Put this card onto the battlefield from your hand tapped and attacking. Used on 1 cards: Tortle Shinobi
Loot: Draw a card and then discard a card Used on 0 cards:

The loot ability keyworded.

Altitude: This can block and be blocked only by creatures with Flying. If this would lose flying for any reason, it loses Altitude instead . Used on 1 cards: Divebomber Dragon
Burrow: This can't block or be blocked by creatures with Flying. Used on 0 cards:

A new evasion ability

Gravecast: You may play this card from your graveyard by paying PARAM2 and exiling PARAM1 cards from your graveyard Used on 1 cards: Restless Dead
Suspend: Rather than cast this card from your hand, you may pay PARAM2 and exile it with PARAM1 time counters on it. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a time counter. When the last is removed, cast it without paying its mana cost. It has haste. Used on 1 cards: Doomsday Device
Graft: This creature enters the battlefield with PARAM1 +1/+1 counters on it. Whenever another creature enters the battlefield, you may move a +1/+1 counter from this creature onto it. Used on 1 cards: Grafting Mimic
Stalwart: This creature can be assigned as a blocker whilst tapped as though it were untapped. Used on 1 cards: Stalwart Sentinel
Frenzy: Whenever this creature attacks and is not blocked it gets +PARAM1/+0 until end of turn. Used on 2 cards: Frenzied Assault, Bloodcrazed Vampire
Unite: Creatures with Unite can attack or block in a group. Groups block and are blocked as a single creature. You choose how combat damage dealt to a group is divided amongst the creatures in the group. Used on 3 cards: Band of Brothers, Pack Wolf Alpha, Pack Wolf

My attempt at fixing Banding. I removed the "and up to one without" section as it never really fit to me.

Ambush: If you're being attacked you may cast this spell for its ambush cost as though it had flash. If you do, return it from the battlefield to its owner's hand at end of combat. Used on 1 cards: Orc Bushwhacker 2.0

In card text or details pages, write the mechanic's code name (playtest name) between square brackets, like "[Crittercast]", "[Bushido 1]" or "[Delay 4 {2}{R}{R}]". It will be expanded to the mechanic's name plus reminder text, such as "Suspend 4 – {2}{r}{r}. (Rather than cast this spell from your hand,...)"
To expand a mechanic's name but not its reminder text, include parentheses at the end of the square brackets: "[Crittercast()]", "[Delay 9 {R}()]".
