I like the "doesn't untap during your untap step, pay
to ignore" suggestion. May go something along those lines.
Uncommon and an activation cost? I having difficulty coming up with common cards that are still good/support/utility cards. Hmm, you don't think the 'doesn't untap' is a big enough penalty? Could I get away with it at common as is + activation cost?
I edited it a little. I still want it to deal some damage to the controller because the idea is that this is still an early firearm and not all that dependable.
Worn Powerstone is already a card though. The idea was (in terms of my setting and story for the set) that (spoiler) the Thran created the plane (being an ancient and advanced civilization) and part of their genius was the Powerstones (I was just using Worn Powerstone as a guidline, reasoning that if there was a worn powerstone wouldn't their be others in better/worse condition?)
I wouldn't even make this a piece of equipment. As a regular artifact with the text in "..." this would be fine (though maybe rare). I'm really enjoying your reinterpretation of old spells in new forms. Is something I have toyed with myself with Lobotomizer and Flaming Effigy. There is a lot of design space available with such reinterpretations. Keep up the good work.
Given that Shrapnel Blast only costs
, that this is an equipment with limitations and that it basically costs

Dwarves are much smarter an mechanical minded than orcs/Goblins. This would be fine without the 2 damage to you/a creature you control drawback (which is on Orcish/Goblin artillery more for flavour reasons than anything else). As it does 2 damage you may need to make it
to activate.
Wizards doesn't like doing repeateable pingers at common any more. Bump this to Uncommon and maybe add an activation cost...
: would make it into a walking Shock which could fit what you want to do.
At common you could get away with this costing
and doing 2 damage as an etb effect.

etc, lots of ideas/space here. Cards are OK as is though.
Like the other 2 cards in this vertical cycle, drop this a rarity, lose etb effect and add "~doesn't untap during your next untap step to the end of the mana production ability. You could also keep etb ability & make all 3 cards

with them getting better as you go up in rarity in terms of howe often you can use them.
a la Pristine Powerstone drop this to uncommon and maybe add a slight cost to untap. "Renewing Powerstone".... ~ doesn't untap during your untap step, you may pay
to ignore this effect. ??? Just ideas. Could even drop the enters tapped bit.
Kinda blah as a mythic, drop it to rare and maybe make it Legendary? If you want it to stay at Mythic it needs something to spice it up and make it memorable.
