Please give feedback (preferably positive), card ideas, mechanic ideas, etc.

I entend to have all the creatures for this set as artifacts, the ones that weren't constructs or something would be colored. Any suggestions or ideas?

Love the idea, and would like to see how this develops.

Thanks it's cool someone likes the idea. :D

Ideas on how to word corrode so that it isn't abusable? Currently it works as such:

You may put any number of cards from the top of your library into your graveyard as you cast this spell. It costs {1} less to cast for each card put into your graveyard this way.

I was thinking it could also be an alternate casting form:

Rather than pay ~'s mana cost, you may put cards equal to it's casting cost from the top of your library into your graveyard but that'd be pretty abusable too.

Any suggestions?

Was also thinking making it a creature ability along the lines of regeneration.

Corrode X - If ~ would be put into a graveyard from the battlefield, you may put a -1/-1 counter on it and put the top X cards of your library into your graveyard instead.

I think it could work, having the critter get a -1/-1 counter would feel like corrosion such as infect and wither. But then I wouldn't be able to use it on instants and sorceries and whatnot. Also I really like alternative casting costs. Any suggestions?

I think that in the form you have it, the alt. cc version of Corrode is broken. At the very least, there should be an upper limit to how much you can reduce a card's cost by. Also, I'm not sure that that is the best mechanic to represent corrosion. The creature ability is much more interesting and flavorful. However, it's basically just a stronger version of Persist. What if you combined the two and made Corrode an alt. cc for creature cards wherein the amount by which you reduce the cost is how many -1/-1 counters it comes into play with?

If you were going to make corrode a cost reduction mechanic, you could make it exile cards from the top of your library, would prevent it from being abused by reanimation strategies and is a fairly 'fair' cost for the mana reduction.

For the creature version you could make it a bit of a fusion of poison/wither/discard-mill.

Corrode: This deals damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters. Whenever this would deal damage to a player, that player discards X cards (where X is either 1 or 2 or the amount of damage dealt)instead. Alternately, instead of discard you could make them mill cards from their library equal to the damage dealt by the corroding creature.

Think I've finally figured out how to make assembling contraptions work. See: Steamflogger Recruit
