Flavourwise I intended something like: "You don't see me, but if you do I'll take you with me."
My design idea behind it was to give him a backup if the opponent plays blue.
I'd argue that two cards at random for three is too harsh... especially since Mind Rot has been reprinted a whopping 13 times, including Magic 2013 and Return to Ravnica. It's obviously a staple at this point.
If this cost , however, I wouldn't have blinked, and would probably draft it. Two cards at random can completely hose a slow deck that spends the first few rounds casting cards like Rampant Growth, only to have the card they were ramping into stripped from their hand.
added the additional main phase (although a turn ending after a battle phase could be fun)
Nope, I didn't realize that, but I think it's worth it because this untaps (intentionally) all creatures, not only those whitch attacked.
Huh. Do you realize this is harder to cast than Relentless Assault?

Mmm.. Interesting. "Don't block me, you'll regret it. Ok, I warned you..." Most people don't call his bluff; those that do, fall down go boom.
But yeah, mechanically, intimidate does mean you're not often going to get to use the fun and interesting second one.
Those two abilities seem to be somewhat at odds with each other.
Well, it's a bit above Mind Rot and costed quite above Hymn to Tourach so I think (for now) it's just fine. Maybe I'll up it after some testplays.
