Mechanics

Enshrine: Exile that card face down, then create a legendary Shrine artifact token with “When this artifact leaves play, return the exiled card to its owner’s hand.” Used on 4 cards: The Collector, Immerse in Oil, Insightful Curation, Belly of the Beast

This mechanic appears in {g}{u}{b}.

Enlighten: If the difference between your life total and that of another player is 7 or more, you achieve enlightenment for the rest of the game. Used on 9 cards: Grand Inventor, Shieldbreaker, Deadly Technique, Arresting Enlightenment, Question of Trust, Insatiable Wurm, Stun into Submission, Try On For Size, Void's Grasp

A riff on ascend/the city's blessing. It is for the {b}{g}{w} wedge.

Brutal: If this creature would deal damage to a creature with higher power or toughness, it deals double that damage instead. Used on 4 cards: Orion, Vengeant Rebel, Treasonous Activity, Spur the Pack, Lupine Rune

Used on {g}{u}{r} creatures.

Empower: Tap a creature you control with power PARAM1 or more: This artifact becomes empowered for as long as that creature remains tapped. You may choose not to untap that creature during your untap step. Used on 4 cards: Weaponized Lighthouse, Menacing Suit, Electrifying Sphere, Oil Dispenser

Use your creatures to power up your artifacts in a crew-like fashion.

Quest: Whenever you complete a mission, put a quest counter on it. Sacrifice this Quest and get the reward when each mission is completed. Used on 2 cards: Preach Goodwill, Keep The Peace

Quests are a subtype of Enchantment that look similar to Sagas. I'm considering changing the requirement from "complete each mission to get the reward" to "each time you complete a mission, put a counter on this permanent" and "when this permanent has X counters on it, you get the reward". This is the {w}{u}{r} mechanic.

In card text or details pages, write the mechanic's code name (playtest name) between square brackets, like "[Crittercast]", "[Bushido 1]" or "[Delay 4 {2}{R}{R}]". It will be expanded to the mechanic's name plus reminder text, such as "Suspend 4 – {2}{r}{r}. (Rather than cast this spell from your hand,...)"
To expand a mechanic's name but not its reminder text, include parentheses at the end of the square brackets: "[Crittercast()]", "[Delay 9 {R}()]".
