I edited it to remove the reference to fighting.
Unfortunately, the combat rules and fight rules don't really mesh well. Combat makes use of steps, so you can trigger at various points within it, but fighting doesn't. You can make a replacement effect to apply during a fight, but that doesn't make sense for combat
This is a better wording, but one should note that the effect is a bit counterintuitive with fight. In normal combat the -1/-1 applies before damage, in a fight the -1/-1 is applied after damage.
Facing is not a bad concept, if you ignore that it often has these timing issues, when you use it in a triggered ability.

Not exactly intuitive, is it? I'll reword.
I can see how SBAs are checked while a creature is blocking/blocked by another, but what exactly is the duration of a fight?
