Bring Low following on from Froggy's approach.
Drop the Detached
Welcome back to Name That Card! We have a simple card today, but it's an odd 'Chinese Menu' card, combining two abilities in a way that could easily see print, but could be hard to combine flavorfully. That's your job. ;)
Alex takes it with Relaxation Chamber. See everybody in a couple of days with (((NTC #054)))!
'You mean if it's sexy?'
Yep. Since I can't really fault them for being cautious with printing that kind of artwork, I decided to make fun of them for it instead :P
'I was imagining "lounging" not "raunchy"'
Two bros chilling in the hot tub, five feet apart 'cause their not gay.

You mean if it's sexy? I was imagining "lounging" not "raunchy". Or for something else?
They'd probably get cancelled on twitter, and everyone knows that is literally one of WOTCs worst fears.
I enjoyed this idea :) I feel like it could be in black border if the art is basically "bath house" but played straight and the irony is implicit :)
The third Ravnica block had a load of comedy flavour texts, such as Experimental Frenzy, Divine Visitation, Wishcoin Crab, Cosmotronic Wave etc. Book Devourer's whole concept is pretty silly. But I will admit the actual picture I had in mind is more suitable for an Un-set, something like Save Life or Urza's Hot Tub.
That's an incredible mental image... I wonder if they'd print that? I've heard (I haven't been keeping up with Magic lately) that MaRo has finally made some ground in his neverending quest to bring humor from the early decades back to the game (outside of silver-bordered cardsets, of course).
Relaxation Chamber
Art depicts basically a sauna and jacuzzi, containing a few miscellaneous chilled-out humanoids. Perhaps enclosed in glass with a battle raging around them.
Bureaucratic Decadence
I asked myself what aspect of red would lead to doing things LESS immediately, and this is what came to mind. I was imagining basically the back-office Boros who instead of red-white's zealous monomania in "doing our jobs, but too well" got red's distractability and white's contentment with the status quo :)
Admittedly, this could just be mono-white. The red was added for emotional support, since this sort of effect could be part of a land destruction strategy. It's also here to help alleviate the idea that white has fewer cards that add colorless mana than red does.
Also, it seemed to me to be harder to name that way. Sometimes I do things for that reason too.
IDK, doesn't seem like a
card...
But, going off my lore from Siege Angel, this could be set in the same world, and could be some sort of artifact that causes mass amounts of people to be less capable of acting against their galactic overlord...
So, how about Mass Nullifier? Maybe Mass Disruptor?
Whoops! Forgot to add the 'non-mana' part to the abilities. That would have made for a rather odd first ability...
Welcome back to Name That Card, post-crash! We got a relatively straightforward one for this week. Let's see who's got a great name for it!
Jack wins with Smoldering Grudges. Grats, Jack!
I've been delaying NTC due to the site going down for a number of days. I figured it would take a couple of weeks before everyone started filtering back in. But I should see you all with (((NTC #053))) in a couple of days!
The poll is up! You can vote for your favorite card name here.
Smoldering Grudges
I wanted something with a flavour of "an explosion fuelled by long repressed past" and this is the best that came to mind.
Oooh, this is very cool :)
How about, Unspoken Rhythms (mostly because it sounds cool, but also because
likes music, or really any passion, and the Exile zone is a very abstract space, so it could easily be the place where stillborn events 'exist')
However, a better name is probably Repeated Rhythms since it as alliteration, and it also is more accurate to what the card actually does. You can't really get cards in your GY without casting them (or discarding them, I s'pose).
I like the flavor of Unspoken Rhythms more, but Repeated Rhythms is probably more appropriate for this specific card. It also fits 'delve' a bit better, probably.
Heh. So it's something like Past in Flames, potentially cheaper, but limited to 6 at a time; somewhere between Recoup and Past in Flames I guess. Can be a cheaper double/triple Recoup if you have other spare cards in your graveyard.
The word "delve" to me always has an association with actual digging, excavation, or at least exploring the depths, even if the Sultai didn't use it that way. So I'm going to say this is a Spelunker's Ritual.
