First strike and haste and a repeatable effect on Ash Zealot - justifies it's cost.
Blood Spirit has a draw back in that a creature needs to be sacrificed.
But to compromise I have changed target player to target creature.
Hmm... so you're spending 1 from another land and giving up the 1 the land could have made, and getting 2 mana. So this artifact isn't adding any mana, just changing colours, which means is the right cost; see also Mana Cylix. But I never really liked Mana Cylix enough to put it in a deck. I preferred the version without the cost on the activation but costing instead.

Ash Zealot (use triple square-brackets to get the autolink) That also doesn't cost
; and it's rare (ugh, I hate rarity cost reduction)
then?
Disagree on that one, check Ash Zealot
...I wonder what this card used to be? Comments make no sense now.
Interesting variant on Confiscate now; probably cheaper - unless you need to control something scary.
Hilarious against, say, dragon tokens, though.
Nice card idea. But I don't think red should get a 2/2 for
with only beneficial abilities. Was this meant to be
?

Aww, it's a lot less enticing now.
Almost - imprinting a City of Brass or similar lets you get round the downside part. But even then it's not horribly excessive, I think.
Reminiscent of Extraplanar Lens, but only applies to one land. Seems fine - it's pretty similar to "
: Untap target land".
