Well, it's a ramping-up global creature removal; that puts you on a clock. Black could certainly do such a thing. Or maybe red: "Huge personal power? Teensy little downside some time in the future, when it will be too late to matter? Sign me up!" But a clock for a draw instead of a loss - which is then stronger.
Proooobably overcosted though, since it won't go off until turn 14 at least. Could reasonably cost 4, and be a weenie-hoser?
I was told this could work, in that for all official purposes, all players could lose, just that the result of all players simultaneously losing would be a draw.
Oh, update. Just listened to mark's latest podcast (on burn spells) and they've officially decided to go back to giving black life loss and red direct damage. Yay
Burn seems much more common than drain, esp considering Wizards' recent trend of giving black direct damage instead. I personally think having this check for life loss instead of damage would be nice, since it opens up options in other formats. You can still build this format to push the aggro archetype
I think I thought drain effects might be too common when I wanted Punish to push more aggressive creature strategies?
As for the creature type, these are commonly called glow worms in real life, but are not worms themselves. Bioluminescent Fungalgnats. There are beetle larvae also called glow worms, that are also not worms, but I was going for the fungus gnat larvae.
Can't they I don't appreciate the weird frame colored Vehicles get assigned. ^^
It's a little weird how the cycle seems so tight, but then some of them trigger on dealing combat damage and some trigger on attacking. That's unfortunate.
Do I need to explain treasure tokens in the second ability, or the explanation of treasure tokens in the first ability enough?
Decreased cost at Vitenka's suggestion. Since the creature hosing is incremental, 4 felt a bit too good, so I went for cmc 5.

That's how it works, yeah. Don't know why you'd want to make this card

Name and flavor change. No mechanical differences.
Card was too similar to Arkna's Ambition. Now a new card.
Interacts sadly with board wipes. Oh well
Missing Martyr?
Increased creature damage from 2 to 3.
Added "this turn" after "crewed by."
Where do they talk about going back? I'm all in favor of it and am awaiting their decision anxiously.

Yeah pretty much http://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/172690866213/was-blacks-target-player-loses-3-life-effects
I suspect (though have no real evidence) that wizards are trying to simplify away the distinction.

> "crewed by a Wizard this turn"?
