spliced the lifegain onto skepticism trigger.
needs better flavor text.
Yeah this wasn't final by any means, more of a placeholder. I'd like something fun on a common blue equipment which makes critters better. Should be something to justify having an equipment though, not just adding a triggered ability to the creature. I'm going to give it +1/+0 and unblockable for now, if you come up with something interesting and simple then post it and it may go on the card/get its own card.
The important bit is trample, so +1/+0 is a reasonable move. How does cost of 2 and +1/+0 sound?
Another option is moving this card to a red or green artifact since I want at least one colored artifact in each color besides blue/white which should have a couple more. The color should help offset the power issues in this one.
3U two targets > 2U one target
No, but Blaster Mage can. He can even discard Crush to do it. Maybe this is his emblem?
But... you can't Crush Walls!
Very interesting design. +2/+0 and trample feels on the strong side for a common equipment, but is quite a lot. This may be quite sensibly costed.
I was going to compare it to Ant Queen - seems like a major upgrade over it (cheaper, more common, non-creature).
I think double strike might be a bit much on a common.
Sever Soul is normally more expensive than this.
Wow, interesting. Pretty strong compared to Selesnya Guildmage. But it is twice the price, and won't pump the army too, so... yeah, perhaps.
Oh, in fact, Ant Queen is the modern version. So I guess this is spot on.
Vulshok Morningstar but in blue?
...Ah, wait, this is common. The Morningstar is too good for common really, so maaybe it's okay to have a common version costing 1 mana more.
Another comparison to see why mine's costed at 1WW: Return to Dust. Mine's cheaper because it's always a sorcery, but I could see this going to 2WW since it's straight card advantage and also a Skepticism trigger itself.
Playtesting required, but I think this will be the final version on this card unless Skepticism ends up not being fun and needs to be nuked and replaced with something else.
I was considering the hull-breach style but I didn't want to outright copy it. I liked the politics that having to choose 2 targets brought to the table, but instead I went with moving towards being able to bin one or two targets while trying to hold to the theme a little more strongly.
destroy target art & encht. > Destroy target + another if skepticism triggered
Stomp and Howl. Indeed good in multiplayer. How about making each half optional, so it works out similar to Hull Breach?
3/7 > 4/6
Yeah, it's huge. I've marked down this cycle for tampering, perhaps bumped up to 2+Colored CMC 2/2s which transform. For now though, moving to 4/6. If yall have any good ideas for a transform trigger which fits the theme of the W/b faction let me know. This trigger is okay, but I can imagine a better one.
