Yeah, I considered that. I figured putting it on just one of these cards would be okay. There are still circumstances where you might want to just untap a creature, but then an opponent might choose to use some form of removal on it.
This also provides a little protection against opponents using oppress, as that mechanic doesn’t target creatures.
What's the point of putting Outwit on this card as opposed to just giving the creature hexproof straight up? You would only ever want to give the creature hexproof if its already being targeted anyways.
It's a bit like saying "All creatures gain vigilance, but only during your turn." It's just confusing for the sake of being confusing.
And even then they only null the spell; since you can just choose to untap the untapped thing they chose. Still, I agree, it's going to be limited times this ability is useful. Probably too many words for it. Though the times where you can go "Aha! The only legal targets are my two tapped creatures!" will be satisfying. (Serve you right for playing so much hexproof! And, uh... wow. Would this be hit by their hexproof or not?)
Outwit was Hexproof

Removing gambit from skeleton
Removing gambit
Gambit is gone
Think I’ve settled on the Jeskai mechanic now.
Hexproof would still affect this; The spell is still under your control.
"two different target"?

See Mnemonic Rumination. Possible fix for Outwit to replace gambit.
Found a fix for the blue ones, but it breaks the one I made in red. White one works either way.
See Mnemonic Rumination. Possible Gambit replacement. Design space seems quite narrow.
This one doesn't really work. A smart opponent will always just target the same creature with both spells.
