What's the point of putting Outwit on this card as opposed to just giving the creature hexproof straight up? You would only ever want to give the creature hexproof if its already being targeted anyways.
It's a bit like saying "All creatures gain vigilance, but only during your turn." It's just confusing for the sake of being confusing.
Yeah, I considered that. I figured putting it on just one of these cards would be okay. There are still circumstances where you might want to just untap a creature, but then an opponent might choose to use some form of removal on it.
This also provides a little protection against opponents using oppress, as that mechanic doesn’t target creatures.
