Needs to be "~ enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter for each {g} spent to cast it" or it dies to state-based effects. Otherwise, nifty!

Sensible design. Ivy Elemental, one bigger if you're mono-green, but can't take other colours. Only problem: I don't think this is common.
