I'd suggest adding Deathtouch and Defender, with an activation that removes defender. But I don't know if that would be as simple a card anymore?

Yeah, I'm assuming it's playing into that Smite / Abu Ja'far / Loyal Sentry space.
I was implying that if it were to just have deathtouch, it might as well just be mono-{g} at that point.
