EDIT: Derp, Larger Than Life was printed. What a waste...

Seems insanely strong in mono-{r} or {r}{w}. If you land this on T2/3, you're likely to recur this 3-4 times over the course of the game. Maybe tone it down to +2/+1 or +2/+0? +2/+0 puts it slightly under Rancor (Trading off the trample, -1 mana, and a less narrow trigger clause for not needing to recast it every time a creature enters; plus it's in a more aggressive color).

+2/+2 -> +3/+0. "Larger Than Life" -> "Rise to Occasion"

I agree. Somehow I didn't think to nerf to buff at all and kept thinking about 3 CMC, but I didn't like that idea since there are a bunch of 3 CMC cards at uncommon red already.

What do you think about +3/+0? It might be slightly better even though since you kinda want to creature to die so you don't need to hold off playing your creatures... +2/+0 feels a bit too weak to me. This is probably a retro thing for me only, but +2/+1 reminds me of Unholy Strength immediately.

... I'm deliberating between +2/+1 and +3/+0.

"+3/+0" -> "+2/+1"

+3/+0 seems on the realm of acceptable, bordering on great pick. Though between +2/+1 and +3/+0, I think I like +3/+0 better because it doesn't modify toughness and doesn't give any relevant evasive abilities. I think I'd like this better with a mana cost to equip to a legendary creature from the grave; Gryff's Boon was a fairly insane card (though mostly for the flying). Maybe like:

>{1}{r}: Return ~ from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to target legendary creature. Activate this ability only any time you may cast a sorcery.

I could accept +3/+0 and +2/+1 if it was that. There's no way to exile enchantments in the set right now, so this is basically a Grafted Wargear that can only be attached to legendary (read: more than half of all red) creatures after the first use.

That sounds like a pretty solid idea... Thx

As suggested

Added sorcery speed restriction

"may" -> "could"

I'm thinking something like...

> "You may play ~ from your graveyard as long as it targets (would enchant?) a legendary creature."

... would be nicer if it could be worded properly.

I believe the wording would be something like >"You may cast ~ from your graveyard if it targets a legendary creature."

Similar to Ghostfire Blade, Risen Executioner, and Scourge of Nel Toth in terms of sentence structure.

Updated from activated ability to static ability.

It probably wants to exile, if you take the second use. Otherwise your legendary creatures all have improved firebreathing forever.

I'm not 100 % on what you're saying, but would '... targets a legendary creature that isn't enchanted' help?

back to +2/+2 since this hasn't performed that well as +3/+0
