See Rai, the Stormfather.
Very daring concept, though it feels a little wordy with the extra kindred clause. As it stands right now, it takes a couple of reads to understand exactly what this does.
The "+" abilities probably seem like a great way to break away from the CARDNAME = "this creature" convention and just list it as "this creature". i.e. "Whenever this creature attacks, the controller of its sire gains 1 life."
You're right. I had intended to do that, but I made this at like 2 am. 😅
You can tell because somehow I also let swype name it Fresh.
Clearly, it was supposed to be named "Mornsirs, the Freshmaker." :)
Sire has memory problems. So as it is right now you shouldn't use it below rare which is not a good spot for a keyword mechanic.
Since you already introduce the concept of kindred, why not "Whenever a creature kindred to ~ attacks, you gain 1 life."?
Heck, why introduce the term kindred when you have already the perfectly servicable "sired":
"unless you control thee or more creatures it has sired."
The drawback is kinda severe and makes the negative synerg of the keyword really stick out.
Is this keyword supposed to be a God only thing?
It does have memory problems, but it's just something I'm playing around with for my own amusement.
The + ability is worded as it is in an attempt to retain its functionality after this leaves the battlefield.
The term kindred isn't necessary. It's an artifact of how I first conceived of the mechanic being worded/named.
The drawback is intended to be reminiscent of the Theros gods and the Amonkhet gods. I guess it didn't realize how severe it is, though. I haven't played with it, but I suppose it would take longer to achieve than devotion. The other gods can come down active, but this never will. Hmm.
What's the negative synergy? I'm missing it.
