Got bored tonight and decided to try making something of an disloyal planeswalker. No real regard for balancing in this. It was a quick toss together card.
named the counters
modified mana costs and starting loyalty
How does the timing on the ability work? Can I activate this multiple times?
This seems really strong against decks that can't generate black and blue. Disloyal should be generic cost unless that's intentional.
Against black and blue decks though, this card pretty much does nothing except get counters until it gets around 10-11 or so, and then it does literally nothing because no one wants to activate it to get to 12+ counters. There needs to be some way for it to automatically gain counters for it to pose any sort of threat.
Maybe something like
>Disloyal (At the beginning of each player's upkeep, put a loyalty counter on ~, then that player may gain control of it.)
That way not only is the ultimate inevitable, you're also playing a minigame with an opponent where you're both gunning for activating the ultimate while trying to prevent the other from reaching it through attacking it/putting counters on permanents with the proper CMC.
Pretty weak payoff overall to just gain control of 1-4 permanents though.
