This is way too wordy. But I wanted something with this feel, of something that could do 1 damage, and might well do 2 damage, and you could even try for more in the rare case where you wanted to push your luck.
I'm not quite happy with the condition, it's too hard to get above 1. But I wasn't sure what else would do.
Hm, maybe something like "until you reveal 2 cards with the same name"? Although that might be too good in decks with diverse mana bases.
I also considered returning the spell to your hand if you failed, but I didn't want you to be able to try multiple times in the same turn.
This is the simple version; more complicated cards might do something with the revealed cards: count their total CMC, or draw them all, or something.
Any suggestion for something similar but less fiddly?
