Too much text. I really like the idea to put flavor text on basic lands - liked it since I first read about the idea on the MtGS forums - but you don't want to throw aesthetics into the wind.
This is a wall of text. As a rule of thumb your basic land with flavor text shouldn't be red-flagged for text size for commons (knowing that flavor text usually would be ignored for this).
In this case I'd say the last part "[A]nd while Angband [...]" would be enough.
or stretch the flavor text over several cards. since it's assumed multiple versions of basic lands per block.
That works; assuming you didn't alreayd have another two nice bits of flaour you wanted to put on lands.
This one even conveniently splits into three parts.
