For a potential 'High Seas' set. For those that don't know, the Hadhozee are originally from the TSR Star Frontiers game, they then made their way into the Spelljammer D&D setting. They are basically ape-like beings with flaps of skin between their arms & legs that let them glide short distances (a-la flying squirrels); hence the reasoning for blue apes and the fact that they all have some kind of drawback. These have the not untap to reflect them having to climb back up the rigging to the topmasts before they can fly down on their opponents again. Hadhozee Topman only gets flying if you pay for it each turn, etc.
They are related to Garks (the other ape-race in my cards) as they are descended from Garks that were captured and experimented on to give them their gliding flaps, make them more intelligent (but also subservient at the same time) and less savage. The Trade Consortium use them in their navy to great effect though they have slowly spread to other lands and a small few have joined with pirate crews. The Garks hate their cousins and kill them on sight.
Giving this vigilance will end a game quickly.
I was thinking of changing it to "Whenever ~ becomes tapped" but that makes it far too susceptible. Yes if you manage to give this Vigilance it is much stronger but the same applies to so many other combos out there that I think it should be OK.
