Slightly overcosted way to deal with lands or enchantments.

It fills out that role, though there are other ways to do it maybe. The one mana of any color feels a little tacked on. Maybe you could replace the mana of any color with cycling. Or you could just change the cost to {3}{g}{g}, make it destroy instead of exile, while removing the mana of any color. This sort of mirrors Downfall in the basic thing it does (destroy target land or X other permanent type) except it's at sorcery speed and exiles.

I'd like this to be able to hit artifacts as well. I don't feel like it should exile either, that just feels a bit off for green.

Artifact or land would fit green better, that's true. Though we don't have too many artifacts in this set.

I'd rather this be artifact, enchantment or land and drop the mana gain.

"I don't feel like it should exile either, that just feels a bit off for green." Green gets to do it, and it serves a purpose here.

The mana fix is supposed to add the flavour of getting something out of exiling, since mana rich plane and all that jazz, but it seems that it wasn't received well.

Exiling such permanents is part of Green though, like in Fade into Antiquity. Slightly more expensive since you get rid of a land though.

I guess my issue is with the one mana of any color is the context that this is a 5 mana sorcery. There's a chance you might not get to use the mana. In that way it's sort of a tacked on thing that may or may not matter. Adding a token you can sac for mana of any color would be better, though that's kind of a black thing.

Third common LD spell. I totally forgot this sent went three-for-three on putting one in each color that could get one.

This is the LD I was least fond of, as the mana of any color felt tacked on. It does function as an enchantment destruction against W/B though.

I'd rather cut this for something else, I especially dont like the random extra mana tacked on.

Changed to now hit artifacts as well, costs {1} less, creates a token for the player who controls the removed card.

Changed this as it was something that people had brought up changing before. The bit that bugged me as the random mana that you got at the end, if we cut the red increasing discovery card because sometimes you lost the mana then this had to be changed.

Changed name

I feel that as a 4 CMC common this is OP now, as it basically exiles any permanent aside from creatures and planeswalkers plus gives a token. Should be at least 5 CMC I think. The LD as it is would typically be on a 4 CMC card, but to add enchantments and artifacts, plus an additional benefit drives this overboard for that cost and considering this is a common.

This gives the player who controls the thing you exile the token, hence why it costs 4 now

Ah I had misread that. Still seems a little pushed to me to have a 4 CMC common that can outright exile three different permanent types. I guess the drawback kind of helps balance it.

I also feel like exiling lands might be kind of harsh vs. Discovery. Destroyed lands can potentially be returned to hand or the battlefield (I believe we have 1 green uncommon that does the former), but with exiled lands you're basically just screwed.

I was kind of worried about that too, maybe this should just destroy the cards instead? I was kind of going for a Fade into Antiquity that can hit an extra thing, but with a drawback because of that.

I think changing from exile to destroy would probably balance the card.

Changed to destroy from exile

Psst. The name Break Open has already been taken.

What a waste of a name :(

That name still doesn't instill a good feel of "create Insect token". I want something more like Fall to Termites except whatever Pyrulea has rather than Termites.
