Treefolk should make interesting forests, no?

Didn't find a way to distribute +1/+1 counters that doesn't sound like support though :/

Why end of turn not endstep? Seems unusual.

changed 'end of each turn' > 'beginning of each players end step'

Pretty sure it should be the end of each end step, correct me if im wrong. Think it might be better to unify it with other cards anyway. On another note do we need to include the reminder text for basic lands on cards like this? Like Dryad Arbor Originally did, or other nonbasic lands with basic land types, Moonring Island? Thats still something thats done right?

I'd rather this turn into a straight forest after dying. Seems simpler, which is nice for a common, and less feel bad/weird than turning your creature into a forest from on board.

I'm tinkering with different triggers just to see what fits, it probably would be better if we have only a few ways of transform triggers at common.

Dying trigger is also interesting, I wanted to give the Discovery player a way to choose when to increase their own Discovery count. Not sure if straight forest is that good though, do you mean a search trigger like Primal Druid?

I really would like to keep this one. A suggestion for continuity and symmetrical elegance between both sides though, is that maybe it should be a 2/2 creature, which feels equivolent to the +1/+1 counter on up to two creatures. Could then maybe reduce the cost by {g}.

I would also like to keep this but maybe make it into a cycle. Currently common is pretty full of DFC and there isn't loads of room there so we could increase the power level and move it to uncommon for now maybe?

I think the best change to this, for continuity, would be to simply have the second side add a +1/+1 counter on each of up to three target creatures. That way it feels like the P/T on the first side matches the +1/+1 counters being distributed. Changing the transform condition to Discovery three or greater would make sense as well.

Having it just distribute 3 +1/+1 counters among any number of target creatures is another option, but it might be too powerful here.

Discovery two threshold is too low. By the time you play a 4 cost card, you'll easily have two or more more land names, making it not a very meaningful condition. Three or more is what I've been using for Discovery thresholds generally, so I think changing to that is simpler by keeping a consistent count and better for this card individually.

Added in Discovery reminder text.

Increased Discovery threshold to 3, as 2 is definitely too easy to accomplish. Also adjusted 2nd side to apply to up to three targets.

Awkward gameplay: Wanting this to transform to get to the discovery threshold of three... you need to transform this.

I feel myself prefering lands that awaken on discovery over things that become lands upon discovery for that reason.

On the other hand having discovery three you are more likely to want more "action"/"board presence" rather than another land. While the +1/+1 counter trigger is cool enough as action, you need quite a presence before you have both discovery three and the board presence that makes you prefer spreading around counters over keeping your 3/3.

I'd also like to have no surprise triggers hidden on the back of commons like this. Since the effect that makes you transform is on the front, the side-effect can be as well (or better for word count: no side-effect at common).

I think it's a better idea to have a critter that transforms into a land be a proactive choice like Sakura-Tribe Elder, so maybe make it an activated ability on a smaller body?

Simplification takes its toll...

was:

front:

> At the beginning of each end step, if your Discovery is three or greater, you may transform Oakwood Elder. >3/3

back:

> When this permanent transforms into Ancient Oak, put a +1/+1 counter on each of up to three target creatures.

Yes, if this can be done at common I'm all for it. Looks like this works out pretty well.
