This seems like a very powerful tutor. Not sure I'm a fan.

Perhaps in black for 3BB?

A noncreature tutor can be blue but is unusual, I think. Black makes more sense.

Is it really that much better than Diabolic Tutor (in a fair format)?

The graveyard clause is super great for decks that can build around it.

I like how this discourages tutoring for 1-ofs by threatening to blow up a huge chunk of your library. I'd suggest exile instead of graveyard to give the drawback a little more bite. Either way it still makes an awesome combo with Laboratory Maniac.

I was considering exile as well since I wasn't sure how breakable it would be. I'm pretty sure this would be vintage restricted, but I'm not particularly concerned with that tbh.

I think it's worth trying before knocking, but I'm not 100% on whether or not this is the set for this.

Both of those are one mana Instants with black drawbacks. Not an exact comparison.
