"third time you untap" -> tap I'm guess that is what you meant.

Care to add "It's still a land"?

Tap versus untap are not actually very different. In fact, three untaps is actually slightly easier since you untap at the beginning of your turn. But it's not meaningfully different since it is a land, which tends to tap.

'Untap' is what I meant. With two canisters, you can tap this for G, untap it, tap it for W, untap it, trigger it, then activate its ability and attack for 5.

In most sets, 'tap' would be the better trigger, but since canisters are all about untapping, why disguise its purpose?

It doesn't remain a land. Should it? If so, maybe it shouldn't be a DFC.

I think it should become a land creature AND remain a DFC. It represents a significant permanent change that can't be as effectively communicated through a counter in my opinion.

Why GW?

Is there going to be a rare ally land cycle?

There could be. We have non-revolutionary transformers. Transforming lands are cool.

I am proposing a cycle.

In that case, I think we should find a way to not count the normal untap during the untap step. I don't want people to have to remember to tap this at the end of their opponent's turn every time they think they might draw something that will give them the second canister that they need. (Unless untapping it while it is untapped counts, in which case reminder text should say so) What if we count tapping and untap it on transform?

Good points, Jackal. "The third time ~ becomes untapped…"? Or just go to the tapping version? "The third time Royal Topiary becomes tapped in a single turn, untap and transform it."

Uh, I don't think a transforming land cycle is a good idea. In SOI, there were only six rare DFCs. A land cycle would take up five of those slots...

I think a full cycleof DFC lands is unsustainable. Make it a single rare land

If not a cycle, this would probably need to be a colorless land then, which would still be pretty sweet.
