Shamelessly stolen from shadowcentaur's "Soot Belcher Golem".
Interesting. Is there much nonland ramp? I thought most of it was in canisters
The idea is that if you have a single Manalith or Mana Dork or whatever, you can repeatedly tap and untap it with Canisters. So it's a lot more likely you can make this thing big.
Seems like a solid way to get a 7/7 with a Seething Song (or a 6/6 with a Pyretic Ritual.) I presume there are no rituals in set?
Not yet, no.
FOUR MANA 7/7.
...in all likelihood, this seems unlikely to actually get bigger, so it feels really weird... there aren't that many nonland mana generators
I'd be more concerned about things that wash mana one for one. Thankfully, Magic doesn't print too many Manaforge Cinders, and if you don't add one, then I don't see a real problem.
That said, Terrarion is in Standard right now. And it's not hard to imagine popping two of them to get your 7/7 with no loss of card parity.
Myr Superion says this is fine.
I'm not saying that the card isn't mechanically fine; it is. What is it doing with our set? If we were using Gold instead of Canisters, this would be a shoe-in. I don't know what it is trying to encourage in our set.
Agreed. "Gets +2/+2 if you tapped two or fewer different lands to cast it"?
This is more of a Casual Constructed plant than a Limited plant. In Limited, as long as we have a Manalith at common and at uncommon, this is a fun build-around alongside Canisters, for a rogue kind of deck; but I really put this card in the set just to be fun in edge cases and in Constructed.
Besides, I do think this belongs in the set. It strongly communicates the themes of progress and technology in a unique way.
Currently this works with Alloyed Thopter, Channeler of the Untamed, and Mana Drone, which are all in the file.
Wrong link type, Inanimate.
Jay, I don't think casting spells has that type of memory, particularly when you consider reanimation.
Still, because the number of enablers are so low, I really don't think it warrants the addition here. Shelve this and get ready to bring it out on a rainy day, for sure, but this will probably be more confusing that anything especially with canisters.
