Trying out some +1/+1 counter cards

I like this more than (((Bolster the Districts))) but we'd need more +1/+1 counters in the set, I think.

In white I agree, but green already has 4 or 5 +1/+1 counter cards if I remember

Yeah, I meant in white. My bad.

Why did this get cut from the skeleton? I feel we need something like it at common.

No idea. I didn't cut it. Let's put it right back in.

It seems strange for a common to do nothing without support. Am I just not thinking of examples like this? Could we change "draw a card" to something you could see by itself like "gain 5 life"? What about this makes people like this over (((Bolster the Districts)))? I liked the structure of give a counter and then care about counters but think that the power of the effect could be redistributed maybe giving 2 counters to the creature targeted or only giving an ability UEOT to all of your creatures with counters.

I would argue 'draw a card' is way more useful than 'gain 5 life', hehe.

I do like Bolster the Districts better in a vacuum. And it works with more decks, naturally... Hm.

I like the Idea at the end of Jackal's post.

How about "Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature. Each creature you control with a +1/+1 counter on it gains Lifelink until end of turn." or something similar?

That seems like a sweet common. For now, I'll remove this from the skeleton and we'll try out each variant.

I'm not arguing which effect is stronger, I'm talking about whether the effect makes the card substantial.
I could be wrong but I think you should be able to throw a common into a random limited deck with the right color of mana and have the card do something. I'm not saying it should be good in every deck, I'm saying it convert mana and a card into something different.

In contention for CW16
