It's a bit counterintuitive that the cost increase ability doesn't make the Chroma ability more effective.
Well, there wasn't any other way to word it to account for the extra
, since it's not actually in the spell's casting cost. The "1 plus the number of symbols" wording is so that at least the the numbers match up -- the "X" in "+X/+0" will always be the same as the amount of
you're required to pay. I couldn't think of a way to get it closer than that.
I realize that. It's still an awkward combination of abilities that will make some players stop and say, "huh?"
I quite like the first ability, though. I feel like it could stand on its own.
Yeah, you're probably right. It just felt to me like there should be something more than just the first ability...
Well, this is probably better anyway.
