Inspired by Silent Skimmer and Raid Bombardment.
Interesting
In creating the
'2 power or less' archetype, I'm looking to previous sets for some inspiration. It's roughly comparable to a classic tribal theme - like a tribe, having 2 power or less is almost incidental to the rest of the card - so we can use a similar structure to reward it.
In Origins, Thopters only had one common reward - Artificer's Epiphany. Elves had one indirect reward - Thornbow Archer. In Innistrad, Vampires had only one reward - Vampiric Fury. Zombies had two, Ghoulraiser and Ghoulcaller's Chant. So we should be aiming for one or two rewards at common.
The presence of a common reward is more of a signifier than an actual reward, sometimes. For example, Vampiric Fury serves more of a role of saying "draft Vampires!" than it does in actually being useful most of the time. However, these signifiers' lower quality is also important; cards like Fury and Thornbow Archer will more often make their way to the player in the archetype, letting them get the rewards (or enablers) they vitally need.
I'd say that a Raid Bombardment with a body is solid!
Oh, and this is of course related to the black-shfited Raid Bombardment, (((Not Raid Bombardment))).
I don't really know if the Flvor makes sense as a human rogue, though. What if it had 1 power?
Iunno, I think it could make sense if we flavor him as being nonconfrontational. A gentleman thief, you know? Or as more of a political fighter - someone who brings down 'morale' - rather than an actual fighter.
Gentleman Thief :)
