this is a cleaner implementation for sure, provided you're happy to run flip cards

one user comes up with a cool idea, another iterates on it. good times

I wonder if it could be implemented like Utopia Sprawl enchantments, so you don't need an official flip card, you can tuck the card under a land to show it's effectively functioning as another land?

That's a slight drawback, but that's probably fine.

I think lands that don't take up a land slot can be quite powerful. I would have guessed the creature side would need to cost more, compared to man-lands. But I'm not sure, there's obviously also an advantage in being able to play a land and turn it into a creature later which this doesn't do.
