Hmm. Would this have a colored frame, like fetchlands?
This would be one card of a five-card cycle.
I think fetchlands can only get away with it because they don't stay on the battlefield for any length of time. If you had a bunch of fetchlands on the battlefield tapping for
(say because you're in a commander game with a nonblack commander and an opponent has Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, and your life total is low enough that you don't want to pop them), then it'd get confusing that their colour frames didn't match what they search out.
...On the other hand, the recent reprint of Krosan Verge suggests that I'm talking rubbish and yes, this would have the coloured frame.
Actually, I think it probably would not. Arid Mesa and friends can be "cracked" to bring out a land that pays for the type of mana in the colored frames. This hypothetical cycle will never "tap" for colored mana...
Hmm. Krosan Verge puts a dent in my theory too. I still don't think these should have the colored frames.
