Based on vague remembrances of a few different ideas I've seen on custom card threads. It originally just cost W so that it would be a clearer parallel to firebreathing, but I decided that that was probably too strong.

This is rather cool. I've not seen it before.

Reminds me a bit of Hostility.

I like this. I think it would be cleaner as a triggered ability, though:
• "Whenever ~ attacks, you may [pay {x}{w}/pay {1}{w} any number of times]. If you do, put [X/that many] 1/1 white Spirit creature tokens with flying onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Exile them at end of combat."
The second wording option is less likely, but preserves your choice of cost per token.
