I like this though I'm not sure about the two bodies being exactly the same.

The token was going to be a Beast. Would that still be alright?

I mean the two sides, not the wolf.

Great design and flavor!

Either is negotiable in terms of size

Nudged backside to 3/3 before playtesting. Played well, though I am not sure if it made a huge impact anyways

This feels just weird in blue. And the frontside is very lacking in any flavorful abilities. Any ideas?

Isn't lack of flavor half of the point of being apathetic?

But in all seriousness, this card is weird. There really aren't that many mechanics that work for both a mechanically blue and green card. I suppose an activated hexproof on the frontside and hexproof and trample on the backside is technically something that fits mechanically... but that doesn't really do much?

This might just need a square overhaul

Why is this not white? The expected colors for revolution are RW. That means that when you play another color in your revolution deck, it should do something that changes your strategy a little away from how the RW version plays. Playing a bunch of small creatures was already the RW plan and making a 2/2 token is something that white can already do.

What if it just had Flash and the back side only had a stat boost?

Or Hexproof

Originally, revolution was five color, but mostly Naya. This is an artifact of that. This was an attempt fill an enemy color revolution cycle that makes much less sense now

The back side doesn't require green mana and we don't have "color matters" so the color shift is mostly flavor. If you have a trope you want to tell with color shifting that is cool but if you are making a cycle, you shouldn't force color shifting onto it. I would rather explore revolution creatures turning into artifact creatures rather than shifting color.

The idea of the shifting-color cycle was to communicate people changing their beliefs fundamentally after the Revolution. It's not needed as a cycle, though.

Since we still have some revolutionaries in blue would we want to have this as a finisher for the three color cycle? W->R->U->W

The other two alternate color revolutionaries within RWU seem really good

Sounds good

I don't really understand the flavor of this card but can the token be a thopter (or thopters), so that it is adding something that RW isn't already good at? How do you feel about the scientist staying the same size and putting all of his improvement into the token? I like the idea of the scientist himself not actually getting better at fighting. That would also mean you can have more fun with bouncing him.

Originally, this DID just stay the same size.

So, if we're going with the flavor of U->W, I do like the idea of an Apathetic Scientist becoming someone who cares about the people. Not sure what mechanical effect that would be, though.

Prowess -> +White noncreature trigger? Maybe put a +1/+1 counter on another creature ? Untap your creatures ?

Prowess -> Valor in Akros ?

Instant and Sorceries cost 1 less for you -> cost 1 or 2 more for opponents ?

The red to blue is prowess --> prowess/flying

(((Consul Fireman)))

Ah.

3/3 - {u}: I get +1/-1 until end of turn -> 5/1 or 4/2 First Strike ?

If the purpose of this color shifting stuff is flavor then we should be making this card around a flavor idea not just looking for mechanics that fit the colors. What would make a blue character have a fundamental change of identity during a revolution?

A scientist to a teacher? One who pursues knowledge to one who shares it; perhaps with the lower classes.

The original idea was a person who was experimenting on creatures for Aether reasons becomes offended by the Empire and FREES ALL THE ANIMALS.

How about the flavor of a bureaucrat/government worker that becomes some form of community leader.

We're not pursuing this cycle anymore. We decided on keeping Revolution to {r}{w} and using the limited DFC space in other colors to capture more important mechanical roles / flavor homeruns.
