Actually adding revolution
minor templating fix to put the revolution text before trample
"must attack" -> "attacks"
can now be tracked by the mechanics page
This is a really cool DFC. Its just unfortunate that it is very difficult to make this kind of story in other colors. Is that ok?
I think it can definitely be done, I just think it will take a bit of effort to finish the cycle. I have an idea for Black to white and green to black. Red to blue might be a bit troublesome, but it is still doable.
If it doesn't come to a satisfying conclusion later, well, we tried.
Black to white could be done, Doombringer. You had that 'Mercenary' that became an 'Officer', went from life loss to lifelink.
Green to black would be something like a humble farmer becoming a ruthless elite. Rags to riches, and in doing so losing touch with the idea of 'community' and 'harmony'.
Red to blue would be a political firebrand / pariah, becoming a respected scholar and researcher once their ideas are no longer 'fringe'. Fringe Theorist -> Respected Scholar, you know?
Blue to green is about moving from individual control to acceptance and natural growth. So perhaps a canister researcher becomes a devoted environmentalist, once they realize the polluting properties of canisters?
Added (((Ruthless Mercenary)))
is a 1 mana 4/4 trample ok? The version I have on file is
for a 0/6 that becomes a 6/6 which seems more fair.
If we like the 1cmc version Would this be strange if it lost some toughness?
It's a little scary that this can transform on turn 2 (if you do something like Raise the Alarm on turn 2). But then this is tapped, and only attacking on turn 3, and unless you do tap two summoning-sick creatures you've given up at least some potential attacks to transform.
It's certainly spicy, but I don't think it's unfair at 4/4. It'd certainly be fine as 4/3 if you wanted to change it. 4/2 would be a bit disappointing, I think.
We may want to move this to the 4 drop I've seen on Reuben's blog now and again. 0/6 --> 6/6?
Both versions are worth testing, or a 3cmc 0/5 -> 5/5
I'm moving this to 4-drop. It interferes too much with Isolated Citizen in the file.
As a card with 6 toughness, shouldn't it be protestors; Plural?
