This is kinda cool. Almost definitely an uncommon due to complexity.

How so? Reduce in Stature was a common with a very similar basic template.

Setting the power of your creature to something nonzero and gaining flying multiple times plays a lot differently than turning an opponents creature "off"

Especially as it means you have to remember what the creature is rather than just 'setting it aside'. Agreed, CasualR.

Why is this being removed? Do we not like vehicles any more?

The card doesn't do much, on thopters its a Veteran Sidearm while your often not gong to want to use it on larger ground creatures. While its interesting, cards like Kitesail just do the same role in a way that is more satisfying.

Also Jackal, we do have a vehicle cycle in the set - the vertical Ship cycle.
