It's a pity this has to be 3 mana to avoid obsoleting Rampant Growth. At 3 mana it's fighting powerful ramp spells like Cultivate and Farhaven Elf. I do like combining these two effects on one card though - it feels like a very natural pairing.
Onto the battlefield untapped?
That'd be way better than Untamed Wilds though. Although I suppose Search for Tomorrow was as well...
No, this seems the standard cost for a typical "ramp + set mechanic" spell - see Growth Spasm, Map the Wastes, Deep Reconnaissance. It's perfectly serviceable in Limited, which is the main aim for commons. And I can just about imagine some casual decks that might like this over Rampant Growth.
Also note Caravan Vigil. I think this (and particularly it being common) is heavily dependent on how much the set wants mana fixing and how god ramping turns out to be in limited.
Judging from previous playtests, ramping with canisters is pretty strong and we don't need to push ramp particularly hard if at all.
