I was more curious to see what people thought about this than anything else. It's been a long time since painlands first appeared in Tempest and Apocalypse. Since then, they've mostly been supplanted by Shock and Fetch lands, which have seen considerable promotion.

Meanwhile, Coastal Tower and its ilk have been superseded by Arcane Sanctum and company. Wouldn't it make sense for the pain lands to follow suit and offer mana for shards/wedges?

Perhaps, though the recent reprinting of the painlands makes me question whether this would actually happen.
