You noticed manifest didn't need to be the top card of your library either, eh? Honestly, I thought this is where they'd go with this in the third set... but I guess they could always just do it later.

As dude mentioned over on Ugin's Barrier, manifest from hand is very easy to break. A single flicker spell can get you Emrakul. See also the discussion on Smokeform.

I almost mentioned it here earlier, but I feel like I'll start sounding like a broken record. Hey, that's a pun. It's really late here and I'm having trouble focusing. I hadn't seen Smokeform before, but while it could be powerful it's no worse than just Buried Alive + Reanimate.

I made this before the discussion. When I edited it I upped the cost, but probably not high enough. At the point where you're using this to get Emrakul or some other big fatty, you could already have Polymorphed into them, or used Elvish Piper, or some other combo. This is less easy to interact with than those two examples, but it does cost more. It might not be the right cost right now, but I think there is one.

6 mana is probably too high for combo decks, ramp decks will just hard cast whatever they want, and it's not broken in other decks. It should be fine. I would love it in my Animar morph Commander deck.

Hmm. Looking back, this almost seems like it could be a green spell.
