I think that this is my favourite Lycanthrope. It is nice and simple and the unflip trigger is flavourful. This and Wereraven have activated unflips whereas the others Werelion, Wererat & Wereboarhave triggered unflips.

Edited my Lycanthrope test cardfs to use the new flip frame - Awesome work Alex, just Awesome.

Yeah, this is a great executation of a werewolf.

:) Thank you! I agree with Jack that this is an excellent version of a werewolf, and a jolly interesting Johnny card to boot.

Thanks guys. I wanted the sample Lycanthropes to realy Pop and the flip format seemed perfect for them. Unflipping flipped cards is a design space that has been overlooked thus far which is a shame as there is a lot you can do with it.
Of them all Werelion, Wereraven, Wererat, Wereboar, and this, I think this is my favourite.

Given time, I'm sure Wizards will do a lot more with the flip mechanic. The truth is, it has a lot of inherent problems with length of text, and isn't the sort of thing you can just put one or two of in a set. You kind of need a reason to be doing it. Kamigawa had an awesome reason... transformation is a big shtick in Japanese culture, and the ability for normal creatures to transform into legends was a perfect fit.

But, I'm sure they know about it, since flipping back and forth was in both Great Designer Searches. I suppose it's only a matter of time. I do wish they'd hurry it up, though. It sounds like fun.

Yeah. IIRC flip was originally based on a mechanic which switched back and forth, and they changed it to just go one way. The big problem being remembering when it's flipped and when it isn't. But designed like werewolf would still be reasonable for that, I do expect ot see them one day.

Updated my Lycanthrope cards to double faced transform cards.
They may still need a bit of refining to work properly with the new format.

I like it. It's simple and elegant. BTW, you don't need the color indicator on the day-side.

Really? Surely that's the only side you need it on.

Choose your own adventure: 1) Because by the time it's face down, you'll already have seen the face up side; whereas you might never see the face down side. 2) Because it is the only side that actually exists. Double sided cards are a horrible abomination that exist only in carrot-fueled nightmares.

Grizzly Bears and Prodigal Sorcerer don't need colour indicators, so nor do front-side DFCs. The colour indicator is equivalent to text saying "~this~ is green", and is only needed on objects without a mana cost or whose mana cost doesn't match their colour. (See the Oracle wordings of Crimson Kobolds, Ancestral Vision and Evermind.)
