Shatter has been obsoleted a few times - Smash to Smithereens, Smelt. So this is a corresponding upgrade to Smash. Seems very good, but I guess Aura Blast was never as good as it seemed, so fair enough.

I guess this is superior to smash in everything that isn't a red aggro deck; and red aggro will prefer smash (or, you know, run another goblin instead)

Er. This is a strict upgrade on Smash in every way. I don't see why an aggro deck would want to pay more for the precise same effect?

It used to cost (on Smash), but that's not been printed for a while, during which time Shatter has been replaced by Smelt. So a corresponding discount on Smash seems fair to me.

(And yes, the problem with both Aura Blast and Smash is that they were just a bit too conditional to bother playing. Disenchant is flexible enough that I'll put it in casual decks happily, but I wouldn't normally run Smelt or Demystify, or even Oxidize.)
