Many things going on for a common. Is that line necessary? I'd expect it in an undying set, not here.
reminiscent of Disintegrate and Incinerate brought it more inline with Incinerate's wording.
Well, it's still a narrow ability. What I was asking was why do you feel this needs to be more than just 1 damage to a player and all his/her creatures? That's a very fine common, though a bit less maindeckable than Chandra's Fury.
Hmm. One-sided Rain of Embers. That's normally 5 mana (Aggravate, Chandra's Fury, Ronin Cliffrider) but has been seen at 4 (Wail of the Nim entwined), 3 (Scalding Salamander) and 2 gold (Simoon). Weird. I guess 3 is probably fine.
Mmm.. it's a lovely token hoser. I'd often be willing to pay for "1 damage to target creature and its controller" which this is always at least as good as.
It can hit untargetable stuff; it hoses tokens... Compared to Chandra's Fury it deals 3 less to the player, and is a sorcery, so a 2 discount? I can see that.
