If Village Gatekeeper has three Lore counters and you attack with Village Gatekeeper and Deathrite Shaman, you can remove one Lore counter to give Village Gatekeeper or Deathrite Shaman +1/+1 or remove two Lore counters to give both Village Gatekeeper and Deathrite Shaman +1/+1 UEOT.
