What's the point of having an Archenemy Schemes set if we don't add an occasional card? I assume that those that know what Naked Singularity is would recognize this as that when they saw it. You know... in a harsher way, but without the "This will be in play for 3 rounds, so you're all pretty screwed" aftertaste.

By the way, I know my rules, but I'm no guru. Does that "If... instead" clause work? That won't result in the mana infinitely cycling about, right?

I suspect they worded Naked Singularity they way they did in order to avoid any potential confusion as to whether the mana just cycles about.

It's true. But basic land isn't as prevalent as it used to be. I'd switch over if I had to, but I hope I don't have to. It seems more mad if the mono red player can't activate his Fire Diamond or discard his Simian Spirit Guide Without getting {w}.

Well, if you're going to be silly: UEOT, red mana is blue; green mana is black...

I suppose I could just change the costs instead, ala False Dawn. That'd show 'em. Oh, except for the one million words problem. Other than that, that'll show 'em.

This replacement effect works, because any replacement effect will only apply to a given event once (otherwise Furnace of Rath would go instantly infinite).

Assuming it's just one big replacement effect, I agree it works exactly how it looks like it should. The only worry in my mind was whether different sentences in one paragraph that described related replacements were one effect or multiple different effects.

Common sense says they should be one effect, and I assume that's how the rules work, but is that definite?

Problem solved with English grammar. Need two separate thoughts bound together in a single sentence? Use a Semi-Colon!
