Back to the Future Sight well. This time we're turning the oppressive fateseal mechanic into a kinda-sorta drawback. But the card could both use a name and a creature type. Have at it!

Oh that is interesting. Giving an opponent a card is a decent drawback - but making you first have to decide whether to skip a card, because is the card you're going to give them potentially better? That is CRUEL. The problem with it is that it does mean early-game you're gonna try and use it for manascrew. Which sadly means this is probably too cheap.

Ignoring that though - I think what we have here is an imp offering your opponent a deal. Not a full blown demonic tutor; this one is quite a lot less good at its job. No, this one will give you (r opponent) knowledge, but not the knowledge you need. And in exchange, it will punch you repeatedly in the face. That's a decent bargain, right? Sure.

Also, this kind of "Powerful creature, downside, cost discount" is often demonic. Though occasionally Thrull.

I'd like to get some kind of tie in to the name of the mechanic being used, too. Fated something? Or... something with seals. Sure.

Unsealing Imp (Creature type imp). It's particularly face-punchy for your average imp; but, well, your fault for unsealing it.

Gifting Demon.

ETA. Or: Tainted Gifter. Creature - Demon.

Yeah, the Imp or Demon approach seems best. But for the sake of another option, I'm reminded of the flavour of Goblin Spy / Orcish Spy:

Ogre Infiltrator
Creature - Ogre Warrior
With luck, what he learns of the enemy camp will be worth more than what he gives away.

Your Worst Nightmare. Creature - Illusion. (Aiming for a flavour of rooting around in their head for the worst things)

Chaos Specter. Creature - Specter. (Specter from planar chaos where they force ideas into your head rather than draining them out, and can't fly.)

Goblin Infiltration Squad. Creature - Goblin Mercenary. "If you pay us more than the other side, then we'll sell you their secrets and sell them your lies. Or--" (Borrowing from Alex's idea)

The other infamous fateseal card is Jace, the Mind Sculptor. So this must be related to Jace in some way.

Jace's Mother-In-Law

Human Witch

Fortune's Bane / Bane of Fortune

Creature - Horror

Choosing who wins these challenges doesn't always feel great. These are all decent answers. And, to be honest, one of the only reasons why I chose Vitenka's answer over the rest is because Magic doesn't have many exciting imps, and I think a few big and bulky imps would make for an interesting change of pace (Not counting Jumbo Imp of course.) Though the word 'unsealing' is definitely a good add.

Will be back in a couple of days with (((NTC #025))).

Tried adding the flavor text: "He comes bearing grifts." Which I thought was clever... but I wasn't really sure what it meant, so maybe it wasn't.

I agree that magic doesn't have nearly enough imps!

I've had a plane idea brewing softly in my mind for many years that would have imps in it...

Imps are cool.
