I like this gambits mechanic. It’s similar to Obscure; a mechanic I removed from Ant. (To obscure a card, exile it face-down. At the beginning of your upkeep, return an obscured card you own chosen at random to your hand.)

I would have kept it, but it was competing for space with an impulsive draw variant I am also using as a mechanic.

Yes this seems like it would have a lot more design space than the obscure mechanic. It does seem very blue and red but it could also be black. Id like to see some gambit matters spells like a Bolt with "If you cast this spell from your gambits deck, it can't be countered and the damage can't be prevented."

@Lost Fblthp, I immediately went to design that, but I had a hard time finding an elegant design for it.
