What are mono-White's problems in Commander?
How can they be alleviated while staying within the color pie?
This card came about while pondering those questions. It's not a solution, though. It's just an idea.
Yeah mono-white doesn't get its fair share of the
'equipment matters' theme, damn red hogs it all! Though I'm happy they have it, they both have rather simple and dull abilities commonly (life gain and burn especially are very rarely interesting)
I think this is a nice addition, somewhere I wouldn't have thought of going is giving white more pie from an ability it shares, I would generally just try to look for things it could start doing...
Pretty cool.
Oh, and i just realized i was talking about the latter half of the card, which where all my praise was going...
the first half is kind of jumping out of the color pie, because white isn't supposed to draw cards like that... (If white has used investigate before in canon mtg then i look stupid rn but i'm pretty sure they havent)
White has Mentor of the Meek, which got an investigate version in Bygone Bishop.
The first ability is Kor Spiritdancer/Puresteel Paladin + Bygone Bishop.
White has plenty of Aura Matters and Equipment Matters cards, and even has commanders for it, like Kemba, Kha Regent. It even has cards that attach equipment like this, like Auriok Windwalker.
I wasn't sure that White could move enchantments, but Glamer Spinners and Autumn-Tail, Kitsune Sage (Kitsune Mystic), while older, did dabble in that space.
The main "new" things here are:
• Looking at things becoming attached to opponent's permanents.
• Letting you attach your equipment to your opponents' creatures

Flavourwise, I'm not sure “Aloof Researcher” feels very white
That's fair. I didn't make it with flavor in mind, anyway.
Simplified the activated ability and made it more similar to Simic Guildmage.
I like this. Sram, Senior Edificer is a good example of how white can be really strong so making more cards like it would be nice for white.
What if, for the second ability, you sacrificed a clue instead of paying mana?
That would swap it from the second ability enabling the first to the first ability enabling the second, which is the opposite of my intent.
