I keep coming back to ideas like this.

Sadly this would probably have to be non-creature spell (or it might be confusing if, say, you counter a 1/1 deathtouch creature).

Even non-creature spells can have deathtouch Pestilent Spirit

But you've got to make it deal the damage before countering the spell, and it's also probably a better idea for the krasis to deal damage to itself.

Yes, but NON-creature spells with deathtouch, deathtouch DOES function on the stack. If a creature card says "deathtouch", does that function on the stack? Looking at the comprehensive rules it says "if the object is in any zone" so I guess so? But that's not how creature cards with "hexproof" work, so I'd expect people to get it wrong.

Really this should only target non-creature spells for that reason.
