For the art on this, I picture a mass of white ribbons gliding just over the surface of the plains, with hints of light peeking out of where the ribbons come together.

While I like this for its weirdness, I have to admit "~ can't be blocked by enchantments" might be a better, stranger evasion.

I think plainswalk is odd enough that we should have a particular reason for having it, rather than just do it "because it doesn't happen very much". It doesn't help that the word is so confusable with Planeswalkers. For that reason, I prefer Weft Weaver.
