Sir Shandlar of Eberyn became a sort of Castle, clearly.
So I was thinking about the flavour, and that 4cc nowadays pretty much a 6/6 vanilla-ish, and figured defence was the way to go.
As written, he'll quickly have Defender, Defender, Defender.... which I guess is one reason to remember him :)
I did technically deviate from the terms of the challenge, because her creature type in Oracle is currently Giant. Giant? Really? I reckon we can have a better creature type for that flavour these days.
I like this, so I've been doing a bit more of it. Have The Lady of the Mountain.
Created as a second entry to Challenge # 006. It's driven by the original flavour text on The Lady of the Mountain, an abbreviated version of which is on this card.
It's slightly unfortunate that mechanically, the easiest ways to get to cast this are going to be with the help of white. Green and red do occasionally get vigilance, and green occasionally untaps creatures, but white does them both a lot more. White also offers Scout's Warning to cast this after you've blocked during an opponent's combat phase. Or you could ping or burn one of your own creatures, I guess.
Seems a fun restriction, anyway.

I just realized I didn't link my card. Jasmine Boreal, Peacemaker.
Ok, I'n persuaded. Lets see if it makes sense with shroud, I'm not sure.
Hahaha! That is a hilarious amount of 2/2s for 2 per booster :)
I think shroud is pretty necessary to cut through the word salad. Some sacrifices need to be made.
Heh. Yes indeed. I wonder if I could make this flavour text refer to that classic old one somehow.
By accident, I hit "Booster", thinking I was on my Mashup: the Gathering page, trying to get a feel for my set. The boosters are solid, though, thanks to the common slot being full of so many simple, yet interesting designs (Lots of 2/2s for 2, too. :P). Right now, I'd draft this set, which is pretty awesome. You also commonly get a nifty design challenge when you draft a pack.
